COMPARISON Odoo 19 Enterprise compared with Zendesk

Odoo 19 vs Zendesk

Zendesk is the benchmark in customer support, and it has earned that reputation. But a ticket never stands alone: behind every request there is an order, an invoice, a subscription, sometimes a return or a service call. Zendesk can't see any of them. Odoo has them in the same database as the ticket.

Why support teams move off Zendesk

Three frustrations that come up in every audit.

Agents blind to the customer

The ticket shows what the customer wrote, not who they are: open orders, unpaid invoices, active subscription and purchase history all live in other tools. Agents jump from tab to tab or give answers that miss the point, and every integration that fills the gap is one more connector to pay for and maintain.

Per-agent pricing that never stops adding up

€19 to €115 per agent per month depending on the plan, with an annual commitment, and Copilot costs another €50 per agent per month. Every support hire is one more subscription line, and customer service becomes a software cost center in its own right.

Support cut off from the rest of the business

A ticket that should trigger a credit note, a product return, a service call or a sales opportunity stops at the edge of Zendesk. Support's real value, spotting what's needed and setting it in motion, gets lost in manual handoffs between tools.

The technical verdict

A visual comparison of out-of-the-box capabilities, with no custom development or third-party modules.

6. What it really costs

For a support team of eight agents, here are the two annual bills, at public prices for France.

Zendesk Suite

€11,040 per year for eight agents

2026 public prices for France, annual commitment.

  • Suite Team €55, Suite Professional €115 per agent per month
  • SLAs and customer satisfaction only come with Professional, at €115
  • Copilot: another €50 per agent per month
  • Workforce management: €50 per agent, payable for every agent on the account
  • AI agents included, but billed by resolution volume
  • Talk telephony: numbers and minutes billed on top
  • And still no invoices, no returns, no service calls

Odoo 19 Enterprise

one subscription per user

Support in the same subscription as everything else.

  • Helpdesk, SLAs, Live Chat, Knowledge and surveys included
  • The ticket shows the customer's orders, invoices and subscriptions
  • Credit notes, returns, repairs and service calls triggered from the ticket
  • AI and automations included, with no per-agent add-on
  • A support agent costs the same subscription as any other user

Your questions, our answers

Questions from support managers considering the switch.

On pure ticketing, Zendesk keeps an edge. On the actual work of after-sales service, Odoo pulls ahead.
Queues, macros, routing, reporting: Zendesk remains the best ticketing tool on the market, and we don't claim otherwise. But customer service does more than answer: it refunds, takes products back, repairs, schedules and spots sales. That's where Odoo changes the nature of the job, because everything is in the same database.

No more tabs.
The ticket shows the customer with their orders, invoices, subscription and deliveries. The agent checks a shipment, generates a credit note or schedules a return without leaving the screen or asking accounting. Handling time goes down, and above all, the rate of wrong or incomplete answers collapses.

€11,040 per year on Suite Professional, before any add-on.
€115 per agent per month with an annual commitment. And Professional is no luxury: it's the first plan with SLAs and customer satisfaction measurement, two features nobody considers optional. Add Copilot at €50 per agent, workforce management at €50 per agent billed for the whole account, and usage-based telephony. With Odoo, a support agent pays the same subscription as any other user.

Yes, Zendesk's API is built for it.
We migrate tickets, conversations, attachments, customers and help center articles. The history stays searchable and attached to the right customer records. Macros and triggers are rebuilt as Odoo automations, usually for the better, since they can now act on invoicing too.

No, it moves to your own website.
Zendesk Guide articles are reimported into Knowledge and published on your domain, with redirects from the old URLs to preserve your search rankings. A side benefit: the help center lives on the same site as your online store and forms, with no more external subdomain.

WhatsApp, yes, out of the box. Other networks through connectors.
WhatsApp is integrated into Odoo and creates traceable conversations. For Instagram or Facebook Messenger, connectors exist, but they don't match Zendesk's built-in channels. If your support runs mostly on social media, that's the point to assess precisely during the audit, and we'll give you an honest answer.

The useful building blocks exist on both sides; the pricing model is what differs.
Suggested replies, summaries, automatic triage: Odoo includes them in the subscription. Zendesk goes further with autonomous agents, but with two meters running: automated resolutions are billed by volume, and Copilot costs another €50 per agent per month. The better your support works, the higher the bill. For real-world SME usage, the gap in value doesn't justify the gap in price.

Yes, and tracked automatically.
Odoo SLA policies are defined by team, by customer or by contract, with alerts before a breach. Better still: hours spent are deducted from prepaid maintenance contracts, and anything beyond the package is rebilled automatically. It's a setup we deploy regularly.

It's actually the deciding argument.
A ticket that reveals a need becomes a CRM opportunity in one click, assigned to the right salesperson with the full context. A customer whose subscription is about to expire is flagged to the agent during the conversation. In Zendesk, those signals die in the ticket, and the way out is closing: Zendesk has announced it will shut down its Sell CRM on August 31, 2027. The vendor is leaving the field, and your sales data will have to live somewhere else.

Four to eight weeks in most cases.
Migrating tickets and the help center, rebuilding queues and SLAs, training agents: the project is short because the scope is well defined. The switchover happens on a Monday morning, with the history already in place.

Yes, that's the approach we recommend.
A pilot queue on Odoo for two to four weeks, with two or three agents and one channel, while Zendesk keeps running alongside. Side-by-side metrics (handling time, satisfaction, first-contact resolution rate) settle the question better than any demo.

Let's talk about your project

Bring your Zendesk invoice and your SLAs: we'll price the full switchover, history and help center included, as well as the pilot on a real queue. The cost of the audit is deducted from the project.
