Hors du Commun and our commitments

It is hard to be “committed” when you are a company.

Yet I am convinced that it is possible, even for a company like ours, to have a real impact on tomorrow’s world. I like to think that I can offer a new way of living and designing tomorrow’s entrepreneurship.
My sources include the work of leading figures such as Jean-Marc Jancovici (The Shift Project) and Aurélien Barrau. They also include politicians who will not be named here. I am also lucky to take part in lunches on companies’ CSR challenges organized by the City of Lyon.
These sources helped me put together a charter of commitments consistent with today’s challenges.

More than a display of good deeds, I hope this document will inspire business owners who want to work toward a better world, whatever resources they have in-house.

Cycling:

✅ Bike mileage allowance: Bike commutes between home and work are reimbursed at 25 euro cents per kilometer, up to €300 per year per employee.

✅ Encouraging cycling: To encourage cycling, we provide the following:

- A bike helmet is offered to every employee on request

- Secure bike storage is available on site.

- Repair equipment is available in the office

- Bike maintenance is covered up to €100 per year

Public transportation:

Every employee receives 20 TCL (Lyon public transit) tickets when they join, to use as they wish for getting around. In addition, all TCL travel is 100% covered.

We encourage our employees to take the train when they go on vacation by offering discounts on train tickets. 50% of one round trip per year is reimbursed for the employee and their partner, up to €200.

AS A COMPANY

Environment:

✅ Reducing equipment waste: Replacing equipment is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions. We require ourselves to keep all our IT equipment (screens, computers, phones, etc.) for at least 5 years. Before then, any device must be repaired... even if it costs more! 😉

✅ Sustainable mobility policy: We encourage carpooling, remote work and sustainable mobility by providing solutions that make these practices easier. We have no vehicle fleet and we do not fly.

Quality of work life:

✅ Constructive communication: We apply the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to foster clear, respectful and effective communication within our team.

✅ Flexible work: Employment does not have to be locked into a rigid grid. We manage our teams flexibly and take everyone’s life circumstances into account, so that each team member has working conditions that make sense for them.

✅ Emotional consideration: We spend a large part of our lives at work. So it is up to us, as employers, to make sure working conditions suit everyone. We take care to consider everyone’s emotional state when making decisions.

🔗 Go further: Our management, based on empathy and nonviolent communication, is directly reflected in how we run our clients' projects. People always come before technology. Discover this co-creation philosophy in our guide explaining how an Odoo audit works.
